Yamaha 2 HP 2 stroke
Just got the above outboard,runs ok but soon as I put it into gear under load it struggles and stops ,any ideas what it could be ,thanks

Blocked mainjet or knackered compression at a guess.

With something that cheap I'd look at the carb first unless you have a compression tester or an endoscope handy to check the state of the bore.

Take the plugs out and rotate the engine in gear to check the gearbox isnt seizing and stalling it.

2 HP yam
It’s got new jet , compression great ,gear box seems ok ,can it be crank case pressure or crank oil seal or pulse pump ? Thanks very much for all the help
