Yamaha 150 V-Max duo prop

I'm considering to purchase a boat fitted with a Yamaha 150-V duo prop , year of engine is 2000 and seems to be in excellent condition. However , I have no experience at all with this Yamaha dou prop type of engine and was wondering if anyone in this forum has. Any feeback as to reliability , economy etc... greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the yamaha 150 TRP (twin rotating prop) VMAX on an AVON 620 and its great. I am not technical when it come to engines but it accelerates quickly, theres no cavitation when turning and its not too noisy. it is also a 2000 model and (touch wood) not had a problem in the last 2 years (as long as i have owned it). Fuel economy seems about the same as other 2 stroke 150's from what i hear. Top speed, 2 up, i have got 55 ish knots. it cruises at about 30 knots 2400 rpm. Hope that helps? Cheers Nick

That's very good. Those props must be holding the water particulary well.

The boat is quite light - just three pods and a steering consol so I guess that helps too!
