Yam 55 throttle problem

hi all

I have a yamaha 55hp, the problem I am getting is that when I start the engine and prepare to set off when I go to put a touch of throtte on, both forward or reverse to get out the berth the engine cuts out. Any ideas what is causing this?

The engine runs fine fast idling and idling, could it be too much oil mix in the fuel or just needs a damn good setup from scratch??

Cheers, all replies much appreciated

Dave

Do you let it warm up properly first, i dont think your engine has auto choke like the newer 4 strokes.

cheers for the responses, yeh whittled it down to the mix first, added 5 litres of petrol, tinkered a wee bit, the it was going fine until it started running on 1 cylinder, then with the help of a few mates we got it down to the ht lead/ coil is duff.

But as said it was the mix that was causing the first problem

So just going to get a new coil unit /lead and try that, fingers crossed everything will be sweet again.
