Transom outboard clamp screw handle

Hi,

I have 35hp 1978 Evinrude. Runs great very pleased.

One of the transom clamp screws has lost it's handle. The screw is still there but no handle.

The OMC part is well loads of money - OMC 433675

But all I need is the handle.

The screw has got a hole in the end that would take an M6 bolt with threadlocker on it so I just need a handle with a 6mm hole in it...

Do you think I can find one? No I can't.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Make one from some alloy bar, or have one made on a 3D printer, or just hang on here and see if someone has a spare

I've just made one out of a couple of inches of half inch aluminium bar. Drilled a 5mm hole through it about 15mm in from one end and hacksawed two cuts to hole to make the slot, then drilled through for the pin fixing.

To be honest, I suspect that these handles are pretty generic and that other males would fit but don't know for sure.

Thanks yes I suppose DIY with the grinder and the drill press would work.

I may have just a suitable bit if aluminium in the odds and sods pile.

Cheers,

If you send me a dimensioned drawing & some photos of the existing one, I maybe able to cobble something together.

Thanks Pikey Dave. Very kind of you.

I would not dream of putting you to so much trouble.

I will knock one up.
