Top speed.

Yesterday I took my new to me 14ft Caribe with a 50hp Honda 4 stroke out for the first time. I got it to 30mph and I'm kind of disappointed as I expected more for some reason. I'm not sure what prop is on it since there's no markings except an "R" cast into. I'm assuming it's the stock prop. I guess my question is what kind of speed should I expect from a rig like that? Thanks guys!

Can’t help with the speed but noting rpm will help a lot it’s a tricky balance of prop and rpm to get top end speed…

Load the boat with the load you will normally carry.
Properly trim.
Using a tacho make several wide open throttle runs.
Note the revs.
Look up the spec for your engine & see if the WOT revs are within the manufacturer's recommended range.

Full throttle range is 5500 to 6000 rpm. It was barely getting to 5400 at wot no matter how it was trimmed. Near the end of my trip I noticed the fuel connection at the tank was pulling air due to a shredded O ring. I removed that fitting and directly connected the fuel line with a nipple. I'm thinking that should help performance a bit. I'm going to try to get it out again this week.

Have you looked on the hub of the prop? It’s strange that the dimensions aren’t on it somewhere.

Ok. I finally was able to pull my prop off, found a name and a number, googled it, and found it is 11.25 x 14.
