Tohatsu M25C3 > 30hp

The Tohatsu M25C3 is identical to the 30hp version but restricted by the carb gasket and the timing. Upgrading to 30hp is partionally discussed here:

Tohatsu M25C3 Carb question Page: 1 - iboats Boating Forums | 609771

Has anyone attempted this ? I can manage changing the gasket but how hard is it to set the timing ? Any detailled instructions somewhere ?

you should be able to find the manual online for both engines, which will contain the timing settings. Then it's just a case of lengthening of shortening the timing link which connects to the timing plate beneath the flywheel. Tohatsus have marks on the block every 5 degrees
