I'll test the pump but I don't think it's that. All fuel lines nd primer bulb are new. Cards have been striped and cleaned. Engine has run only a handful of times since.

Looked in good condition when I took them out. Still went to a point and dint have any deformities. What stumps me is how it ran OK one day then the next it got worse quickly. Going to have a look soon.

I would prove fuel pump a small hole or tear could have got worse or the diaphram has stretched more since it's had fuel through it & as Beerbelly has said too carb refurbe kit Jets the lot.its not been unknown for new stuff to be faulty pressure test the fuel line.

The connections on the coils are wet so would it be possible that is causing something.

Air box had a lot of fuel splashed in it. The opening of the cabs had some gummy like fuel and oil sat on the bottom of the cylinder

I'm just posting as I do stuff now. Started it up. In neutral it revs up fine. Looking inside the cards the main jet squires fuel and I can see flashes coming from inside the cards. Should fuel be igniting before the reed block? I guess it's before the reed block or I wouldn't see the flashes?

Did spark plug test, the non scientific one of just looking at the spark and all three coils spark and it's a visible spark

Quite sooty. Cleaned them with a blow torch today. Could it be the fuel mix screw on the cards because I'm running a 50 to 1 mix

Cards are clean inside. Not sure why the fuel is igniting before the chamber or what the green slimy stuff that's in the cards is or why it's spitting get forward into the air box

Does it "sneeze" every so often?

Is your ignition timing set right? Do you know how to check/set ign timing?

Not sure how you mean sneeze. It will skip a beat every so often, more like cough I guess. Timing could be out but it's odd it ran well one day then the next it had full power for a few seconds then gradually lost power until all it could do is idle in gear. I don't know how to test timing properly and don't have much in the way of tools. When storm Barbra packs it in I'll take it out for one more spin to see if it was the wet coils then if that fails I'll take it to a dealer to test the timing and electrics properly. I don't think there's a problem with the mechanics

A sneeze/cough in a cylinder usually indicates that the timing isn't right or its running lean. I hear what you are saying about good one day not the next.

Undo the fuel pump from the engine. Blow into the IN spigot whilst blocking the OUT spigot with your finger, is there an air coming out of the little hole on back of pump? If so your pump is fubar. This will flood your bottom cylinder with unmetered fuel giving you no end of issues.

It takes minutes to do.

If coils are wet ( water) the engine will die spark not strong enough to ignite the fuel hence carbon deposit and sooty plugs you might even get a blow back into air box.water needs sorting is there still a leak.
You mention earlier I think mixture screws no doing anything if it was me I would refurb the carbs and balance them up.
I would say you will have water vapour around after the head gasket leaking until it's run a bit the green slime might be two stroke oil if you have a lot of fuel spraying around because the mixture is wrong or blowing back
