Tohatsu 2-stroke 70hp - whats it worth?

Can anyone please give me an idea please how much a 2005 Tohatsu (comissioned in 2006) 70hp 2-stroke outboard is worth please? Its electric start, long shaft, automix, model is M70C, has only done about 40 hours in total, so looks immaculate.
It was fitted to a ferry life boat and only used for 30mins/month for testing/crew drills, it was serviced regularly as you can imagine and has just had a full service. If comes with a brand new Tohatsu control box & cable + fuel tank.
I made the mistake of buying it thinking it had power trim/tilt, however it doesn't , so no good for what I wanted to use it for. Doh!

I've attached some photos of it.

Any help (or sensible offers to buy - its still crated up as just been delivered!) on the value and how best to sell it would be most appreciated!

I'd say around £1500. With PTT it would be worth around £1800.

How much did you pay for it?

Probably up to £2k I'd say. If it had power trim and tilt, then you could add another £500. You could try selling it here: Outboard Engines for Sale - FAFB

Tohatsu mid-range 2-strokes are still sought-after in commercial circles, so may suit a mussel/salmon farm boat, where there's no need to launch and retrieve.

You could also call Ian (Stornoway) 01851 702504 or Cameron (Gourock) 01475 635700. Both are Tohatsu service agents and may know someone who is looking for this particular engine.

Great, thanks guys. Sounds like if I sold it I should get my money back, which is a relief! My local boatyard is going to check around next week in case swine has a secondhand pt&t unit before I decide what to do.
