throttle control

I need to replace my throttle control as it is busted.
The one I have is a quicksilver and is connected to a mercruiser 120Hp diesel.
I dont necessarily want the same one again, but I have never got involved with this before, so I dont know what makes to look at or what types of fittings there are.
I only need the handle, the cables are ok. The handle would come off in my hand, it is only the trim wires that stop it from comming off.
Any ideas?

Nick

A web search for "binnacle control" should give you a few hits.

Teleflex do some nice universal ones with throttle locks and multible positions for the trim tilt buttons.

Yeh, buy a replacement handle. they're available thru your local Mercruiser dealer.

I had a look at the teleflex site, I am a bit confused now.
I think I will have to go and look at some.
