RIBase
Ok, but very flimsy and a little crude in comparison to the Mariner/Mercury 2.5, and the Yamaha 2.5.

Had one from new in 2006. (assume 4s ?) Simple , light ( only 13kg?) and reliable - then it got nicked ... so I got another identical one!. Uses really no petrol at all.

The starter cord is built in to the cover which went tits up once - but was simple to put right and was probably down to the kids 'playing' with it.

I am sure mine is air cooled to so no faffing with impellors etc. Make sure the spare split pin/sheer pin/killcord bir are in the rubbed thing under the front if its used .

I'd recommend them to anyone after a simple light motor.

Pete

Oh yes... its just not the std cooling water comes out - only when you rev the nuts off it !

As the book says ' Cooling water is intermittent;y discharged from the pilot wate hole at medium engine speeds. Water is not normally discharged at other speeds even when the engine is operating normally'.

Can you tell I have only just read the manuals ???

I've got one on my tender. It's about four years old, there was a recall on the thermostats (water cooled) and my carb blocked jets once.Other than that no problems BUT if I were buying again I'd buy a honda 2.3,aircooled,centrifugal clutch so just goes into nuetral when you shut the throttle and bomb proof.
Most of the charter flotillas in the med etc use them and they get terrible abuse,I was in Croatia last summer and the charter flotilla tenders all used hondas, some of them looked in a terrible state but they were all still running!
