As profile, about a mile per litre at 20 knots.

And 1 litre is equal to 0.22 imperial gallons and 0.26 USg

1. Humber Destroyer 5.8m

2. Typically 750kg excluding people perhaps? never weighed it but going on manufacturers quoted wt plus a guess for console, fuel etc

3. Johnson Fastrike 115GL 2 stroke carb

4. Overall fuel consumption about 1.25 litres per mile on each run from fillup to fillup at a range of speeds, no fuel meter fitted this is just miles on the GPS against the amount of fuel put in the tank to fill it up again. Actual tank figures since I started keeping records recently, 1.22/1.25/1.30/1.16/1.23lpm

5. If I take the spare fuel cans out, just over 40kt. Typically loaded, about 39kt trimmed right out, typically loaded and trimmed the way I cruise, it will get to about 36kt.

What pitch prop are you running and what sort of top speeds are you achieving?

I'm using a 23".

I have only very briefly opened up the throttle and noted 42kts on the GPS, but revs were only just over the 5k mark by that point, although were still climbing. I'm only 4 hours into the running in, so I'm reluctant to run at wot until I've done a few more hours.

1. Revenger clone - 8.8m with 2.85m beam.
2. 2500kgs ish
3. Suzuki 225efi 2 stroke
4. cruising 30mph - 4000rpm 36lph which equals about 3.8mpg
5. carries 500L or 110 gallons in twin tanks - range is about 400 miles
6. Flat out 44mph - uses 90litres an hour or 20gph
7. engine on a transom jack with 10" setback
8. Prop is a 4 blade 19" stainless

Figures measured with Navman 3100 fuel computer - when you can read the display!!!

Hoping to get a 300 or 350hp engine during the winter - not so much for top speed but my economical cruising speed will be about 45mph - same as my top speed now so should save fuel.

Everyone said a 2 stroke would be much thirstier than a 4 stroke - I beg to differ!!!

Erm..... I make that 2 litres per mile at wot. I'm not sure that's more efficient than a 4-stroke.

It's not more efficient - it's the same - not bad for an older type of engine!!!

Yes in our 6 metre - just in the process of stripping out the temporary console and floor and replacing with TekDek and a fibreglass console. As it's a jet it's a lot of fun as well!

Here are a few - the last one is a straight crash stop from over 35 mph - no water over the front at all!

The engine box and wakeboarding monster tower are staying, but the console is being replaced and the seating is up for review ................

most similar size engines are quite similar on consumption at wot, its the cruising range that makes the difference for dfi and fourstroke engines.

i should imagine your 225 is having to work quite hard to push that boat along so a bigger engine will probably prove more efficient for fuel .....depending on which one you go for!

on yes and on the survey it averages around 1l per mile on a 6.5 vipermax with 200 opti with typically two adults and two children and typically full of fuel and more pies than you can shake a stick at!

3 Evinrude e-tec 40 2006
4 Fun boat we don't do much of this cruising -- typically we get~8-9mpg
5 Typically (4 people) about 30mph, ideal have had 37mph on the gps
