Sticky Bendix 250 ETEC

Hi,

My 2008 250hp ETEC has started to develop a sticky bendix. It's not every time I turn the key, but it's getting more common. When it happens it just spins.

Quick question, should I try and strip it down and lube it, or would it be easier to get it swapped ?

Thank you !

swing the light someone, in the old days as long as the armature is not out of shape we just wash the bendix in parrafin dried it with a cloth , and refitted it.

Thanks Al... Was easier in the old days, my old blue band Merc was a doddle.... but this one looks like the inside of a PC when you take the cowling off ! I'll have a go at cleaning it up the weekend...
