Don't know specifically about optimum power/weight ratios for SR4s, but the Yamaha F50 and F60 weigh in at 110kg, and the Evinrude Etecs from 40-60hp are marginally heavier at 113kg. You could even opt for a new 2-stroke given you're in the States.

Thanks, I am in California, though and 2 strokes are banned from many lakes. I am looking at a good deal on a low hour 40 etec, but don't want to wish I got a 50 down the road. I also am leary of 4 strokes and all those extra things that go wrong.
