Spout for emptying 12L tank

My 12L tank for my Suzuki DF6 has a few L of fuel left that I’d like to be able to pour into the lawn mower / car.

I’m searching for a screw on spout like you get on the smaller 5L garage Jerry cans but that fits the larger thread of the 12L outboard tank cap...

Anyone know of one? Or have another easy method I’m missing?

It’s at that level where any attempt of careful pouring using a funnel results in fuel on the floor... I’d like to avoid it.

I put a large plastic funnel into a normal car type 5 litre plastic container then tip the contents of the boat tanks - I have two 25 litre ones - into that. Obviously you need to avoid overfilling the 5 litre one!
Then use the 5 litre with its own flexi hose to put in the car tank.

Just remove the fitting off the tank hose at the outboard end, prime the bulb to start and leave it to syphon out. Refit fitting when done. Or do what Max said

Good shout, but sadly my fuel line is the cheaper fixed type with the crimped on connectors so I can’t easily remove it.

To be fair we've had much worse conversations on here. I suspect like many people, I bought my jiggle syphon from the bloke at the boat show and it's one of those bits of kit that makes you wonder how you coped before.

Yup but you cant get then going when there is very little petrol in the can.

That's generally the sign that it's empty and no more jiggling is required.

On a serious note, was it just that you wanted to use the petrol or does the petrol degenerate over a period of time?

Views on how quickly or badly modern fuel degrades varies. All sorts of things may have an influence - how it’s stored (sealed vs vented, plastic vs metal, temp, humidity), tank full or part full, the type of fuel (ethanol free vs standard vs possible supermarket), if you’ve added 2 stroke oil, how long it’s been in the supply chain before you filled your tank and then your engines sensitivity to stale fuel etc all have an impact on the issue.

You can buy stabiliser. You will find people who swear it’s essential and people who never use it and never have a problem going from Sept to April with no special precautions. Search the forum if you are looking for some entertainment - people on both sides have quite entrenched views.

Yes ,very annoying that boat show was cancelled this year ,.i was hoping to get a jiggle syphon and an anchor buddy on a package deal !!

I never realised how much I owed my father's early training so I was able to cleanly transfer any liquid to/fro any receptacle without "a funnel'ng or a jiggl'ng"!!
