Haven't been around for ages - nice to see mud sticking!!!

I am sorry boats and outboards has had bad service - we can only be as good as the local depots.

Amazing how Kay transport can provide a better service when we are both part of the same network - Palletways - book with us and it's Kays who will collect in their area .............

In other words the transit van with no tail lift would still have happened!!!

ALL pallet networks work in the same way - typically about 100 depots around the country - some good - some bad!!!

No time to monitor all this at the moment - business expanding nicely but you wouldn't believe the scammers and shit we have to deal with.

Will have to post a proper thread soon.

Thought I the only idiot awake!!!

Nice to see some people have missed me......... Morning NOS!!!

Working myself into the ground and having to deal with some seriously obnoxious gits but do get some nice people as well.

Another 6 months and I may have some leisure time again and be able to ujse my favourite site. This is the 1st time in 2 years!!!

Popped on to see if a certain person was slagging us off. Bloke mentioned his father used ribnet - messed us around like hell - 3 failed deliveries all his fault and then had the cheek to issue a paypal dispute against us.

Morning Codders! So the legend has returned

I agree 100 % that your only as good as the local network. The issues I've raised would appear to be booking issues, ie last failed collection it did not get booked right, last failed "tail lift" was when it did not get picked up on the notes as being requested so was not booked with the haulage. Your competitor has a click button option as part of the booking system so that can never happen

My biggest issue was the last delivery to Germany, engine had severe damage (needs new hood now and I sent in an email asking for more details on the claims process but never got a reply, that was a month ago!

It's a shame as I genuinely want to use you, for various reasons such as your legendary status on here, the fact I prefer your invoices and also INTERCOUNTY have some miserable drivers!

Is it worth trying again I'm not sure ? We send 4/5 pallets a month.

Prices

Your cheaper! Here's pics of half pallets sent from me to you. Shame you don't offer quarter pallets though (as most motors can in under that and if booked via the other it comes in just under your shown price).

It was amazing to hear your margins so I can understand it from your side too

Hope it works out for you and i look forward to seeing you back here soon

FOR THE RECORD THIS MYSTERY MESSER IS NOT ME!!

We don't need a tick box for a tail lift - they are standard!!!

The only time a tail lift isn't provided is if there are access problems and a lorry can't get down the road or if the depot are short of vehicles etc. Some depots don't even have vans!

As regards the damage it is easy for us to miss an email - you should have phoned us!!! We have genuinely only ever had 1 other damaged item going to Europe. We get over 600 emails a day - if you need us phone!!!

Outboard hoods are very easy to break - if in doubt crate it - that's how the makers send them out.

Recently sent a pair of Volvo D6s with legs - worth £35k each = they were packed rather well.....

Free insurance covers you for £5 per kg of weight - so a 50kg outboard would only be covered for £250. That is why we offer ehanced cover - cheapest around - £15 for up to £3,000 irrespective of weight. £40 gets you about £12,000 cover. Some of our competitors charge as much as £200 for that level of cover. The enhanced cover is for commercial transactions only - any sort of sale for profit - not personal goods.

Remember extra insurance is no substitute for bad packaging.

And the GOLDEN RULE - with ANY form of shipping service - NEVER EVER sign for something without inspecting it - if you do you can't claim full stop!!!

And no the bloke who messed us around was not boatsoutboards

That is an expensive zone to an expensive zone - bulk of the country there is a much much bigger difference - thats prob why we are now the biggest company in the UK doing this sort of thing. Still not making money but the business is expanding well.

Thanks Bigmuz and thanks for sticking up for me when I haven't been around.

Sadly I am NOT back yet - still working way too hard for that and about to offer parcel services as well which will make things even harder........

Hopefully I will have a manager I can trust soon which will give me more time. Then I will be back!!!

Some very good points well made. This was 130 kgs packed very well but not stackable and as it was a euro delivery it was stacked upon, no obvious sign of damage and signed for ok hence why I didn't progress the claim.

I'll come back for my next set of collections and see what happens.

Best of luck with the growth and the parcel venture.

Cheers
