Short shaft on avon searider 4m

Hi im thinking of buying a used avon searider 4m with the centre console removed. I currently own a tohatsu 25hp short shaft tiller steer, does anyone know if the engine would be compatable with the rib or any suggestions on how to fit it so it will work.

SR4 has a longshaft transom from the factory, so you'd need to reduce it by 5" to suit your motor. Not recommended as you'll have very little freeboard at the transom, particularly as there'll be extra weight aft (helmsman) with a tiller-steered motor.
