Second hand price

Have just changed the engine on our rib for an electric start. Chap who changed it for us wants to know what we want for the old one. I have no idea what to say - was going to bung it on Ebay and see what happened.

It's a 2005/6 Yamaha 4 stroke 15hp. Long shaft manual start with remotes and tiller.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Not sure on 4 strokes and long shafts but the (very desirable) short shaft 15hp 2 strokes generally go for £1100 to £1200 if in good condition. Just sold mine last week for £1150 and that was a year 2000.

I think the fact its a long shaft will count against as most tenders who would want a 15 would need a short shaft...

Other than that the market is more day/ fishing boat Aux engine or type of boat .

2 strokes seem to be more wanted due to the less weight and simpler storage.....
