Recoil starter wanted

mercury 15hp 4 stroke

Got one of these but its only electric start, anyone got a recoil starter for it or knows were I can get one
I know if the battery fails I can pull it off but is a lot of faffing about to get there

We're converting same model locally. Tohatsu's recoil 15/20 HP 4 strokes fits, will need to buy spring and lock cable separately. All mentined spare parts are around $ 150.00 in USA, look for Tohatsu distributers in UK.

You can buy all recoil's spare parts and assemble to your existing empty recoil or buy a complete recoil just to screw over flywheel. You decide.

BTW, Tohatsu same models comes with recoil included and that's a + Those Merc HP's are rebadged Tohatsus...

I don't think it will. I think they are Yamaha powerheads on Merc legs

The first image shows the manual starter for the engine pictured and the second for the later 15/20 tohatsu/mariner/merc.

The recoil assembly in the first image, P/n 850864 is £110.00 from Barrus. (or any merc/mariner dealer)

not a bad price, IF it can be done without changing the flywheel, as the electric and manual engines had different flywheels.
