Prop size

Hi all, similar post to the one below - I have a new (to me) Johnson 115 on a 17' fibreglass boat...current prop is 15 diameter by 17 pitch. Felt a bit sluggish pulling skiers in the summer...any ideas whether I should reduce diameter/pitch? I'd have thought a 115 would pull a mono-skier easily but it felt like it was hard work.

Any advice welcomed.

Need to know what rpm your making at wot & type of boat, there can be a huge variation between 17ft boat types. Bearing in mind you can monoski behind 25hp upwards a 115 shouldnt realy struggle unless its already pushing a big heavy lumpy boat those old v4 johnsons were pretty grunty things too possibly reducing pitch may help rhat is assuming its running correctly

Thanks. Frustratingly, I'm not now going to manage to get out for a while so won't be able to test WOT RPM (though not sure how I'd know...the gauges don't work!) - it's a fletcher style boat and had an 80s Johnson 120 on before which had a bit more oomph...albeit with more noise and fuel to boot! This one just feels a bit limited...runs quietly and reliably but just feels like it's lacking some power.

Anyway - just thought I'd see if there's any obvious change I could make.

Thanks!
