Have a 15ft (5m) seventies fiberglass hull zodiac mark IV with a 1994 Honda 45. Prop suggestions?

Check which is the prop that comes factory standard delivered with that engine, check with an induction tach at wot for max rpm factory stated and go from there if under propped for your application.

Hi, I had a 1993 Honda 45hp from new for about 7 + years, have found the original brochure and it only had one prop size as standard ( in the UK ), which was 3 blade, dia x pitch, 286 x 330mm or 11 1/4 x 13 in, gear ratio is 2.09, rev band is 5000 > 6000, 808cc3, alternator 6A, weight with pt&t 203lbs long or 198lbs short.

hope this helps.... ps a GREAT engine.

Alas, only have dinky old hand-me-down merc prop with 2 tips missing and no tachometer. Too risky to just bung on factory prop and hope for best?

Factory delivered prop is usually a medium pitch indicated for best hole shot and nice speed, should give around middle readings between min and max rpm at wot stated for that engine.
Don't play with props by recommendation or experimentation without a tach if you like going wot, if engine revs less than min or past it's max rpm without knowing, engine will have less life span and/or suffer terrible consequences...

Happy Boating
