Power steerin pump/hose removal

I have a mercruiser 1.7l diesel and need to remove the pressure hose from the pump to remove it as it is leaking on the elbow from the nut to the hose..... hmm it wont budge at all, and i cant get the pump off either... Anyone attempted it before? Any hints tips before I spend £££ getting a merc agent to do it??? thanks!!!
