optimax helm unit adjustment

Anyone got any leads or links, for setting or adjusting F/R slack on the 225 optimax helm unit.

I want to adjust out slack to allow quicker or more immediate shifting into foreward/ reverse

Disconnect shift cable at engine

Push the shift lever on the engine into forward gear (check it is in gear properly by trying to turn the prop).

Move the helm unit into full speed forward position

Then adjust the cable at the engine so that it fits back on without being under tension.

This is how its done for an Evinrude anyway!
