Welcome to Ribnet,

If going mostly fishing try to get a 2 strokes used or new Tohatsu 9.8 HP, is the top model of the 6-8 HP same younger brothers. All are same size and weight.

Happy Boating

Hi

are you talking inland lochs then. if so you would easily also get away with a smaller engine. Oh and for fishing I would go 4 stroke.

not sure when you need it but have you thought of going to Open Weekend - March 2014 – Glasgow Angling Centre

that is the best and biggest free fishing event in the UK and lots of great advice on where to fish and what to use etc. Oh andyou might find a few outboards there as well!

Dave

Hi, I have a lovely yam 8hp 2stroke that is powerful, fully serviced and only weighs 27kg.
Made our 3m plane with 3 in no worries.

Only reason for sale is due to buying a bigger boat and bigger engine.

As stated in the above post I got sorted and have bought a Yamaha2.5hp 4 stroke engine, I am wondering about storage. Will it be ok to keep it in the shed on an A frame with a tarpaulin or similar over the top of it .cheers for any info on this,,,, Bob
