Mystery output socket mercury 7.5 up 1980

Hi all
Can anyone identify if this is a output socket for a 12 volt feed for batteries, lights etc.? I have not seen one in the manual.

It’s a 2 round pin affair and clamped down next to the choke.

Would be really useful if it is and if any has info on where or how to obtain the female lead plug for it,that would be great.

If not can I just wire in a different connector assembly?
