Motor help

I have found my perfect engine, well I hope I have but have a few questions . I was going to go for a suzuki 6hp 2016 model . It's in a boat shop and was registered in Nov 2016. It hasn't touched the water and is new . Still has 4 and half years warranty . Am I making the right decision . Is the aluminium good on these and do they have problems with the thermostat getting stuck and cooking the engine . Sorry for the questions am just a total noob .

What engine size is your boat rated for?
If you have a look through the forums you'll see that others have bought small engines & immediately regretted it due to lack of performance.

ETA. Just realised that you have a long thread on this subject running in one of the other sections.
Can I suggest you stick with that thread as multiple cross forum threads are likely to cause you confusion!

If under 3mts as in your description I would think it would be spot on. I wouldn't worry about overheating, the Suzuki's are a great engine. As with any engine proper maintenance and regular flushing will keep it in tip top condition.
You can allway's pull the thermostat yearly and clean it up in de,scaler if it needs it.
