Mercury Smartcraft Calibration

Hi

I have a mercury 200 opti and smartcraft gauges, every thing is working except the fuel counter, it measures whats used but not what is in the tank, i am told by the previous owner it just needs to be calibrated, is this an easy job or should i take it to a boat yard?

Thanks

Depends how it's all wired in. If you have a separate fuel sender with American spec then you will need to calibrate the gauge to read the input from that sender and tell it tank capacity etc. if you have no sender then the fuel gauge will only read fuel used. It's fairly easy if you have done it a few times before!

As turbo said it fairly easy. When that system first came out the factory told me" tell everyone to piss of put the book on the consul,if you make a mistake just start again" all I will say the first two or three it just frustrating but not hard to set them up.
