Mercury 9.8 or 7.5 Identification please

Hi, I bought this Mercury as a 9.8 hp but i have my doubts about it, I have done a search on www.marinshopen.se/ with the serial No. and it is between the serial numbers for the 7.5 (9443296-9461525) and the 9.8 (9445986-9467611) the serial number is; 9447908 Belgium so i am abit confused all I know is that it is a 1986 .

I have fixed the "stuck in gear" problem though I have a problem with the carb that got me thinking that it might be a 7.5 as the carb is a WMB-4 as I understand it WMB 1 & 3 = 9.8, WMB 2 & 4 = 7.5 but it could have been replaced in the past.

Is there an easy identification just by looking (I have tried to upload photo's but says "invalid") will try again later as I am going off line soon.

looking through the torque specifications for the 7.5 and the 9.8 one thing stands out,
for the 7.5 "prop nut torque N/A
for the 9.8 prop nut torque 10 ft lb. The engine I have has a prop nut so does this mean it is a 9.8?

from my internet serial No list it is a 9.8......but will double check on my paper lists.
