mercury 50hp no spark???????????? help!!!

just bought new quicksilver control box for my 50hp mercury outboard trying to wire it up but have no spark
engine was running fine till i changed to this control box
cant sus it out its doing my head in
any help would be appreceated

stating the obvious something's not wired up right! Given that the killcord circuit is designed to stop the spark from firing (when shorted to ground) - that would be the first place I was looking.

Hi taking Polwart's point a bit further check that it is not shorting itself against the backing plate. I just renewed my killswitch and the engine would not start had to disconnect the new switch and away she went, found the trouble with the plate sorted and no problem Hope it helps.

have checked cdi unit the blue terminal is down to earth with no external wires conected?
