Well I got around to calling up Barrus today.

They have confirmed that the first service due in 3mths / 20 hrs is RECOMMENDED ONLY. Not performing this service WILL NOT invalidate the 5 year warranty.

They have been asked this many times and acknowledge that the wording is confusing.

I spoke with Service Manager, Tim Bennett.

Thats what used to say as well, but as I have been retired for six years I thought it may have changed
