Mariner 40hp 6E9 Workshop Manual

Hi, I recently bought a 4m Avon Rib which has a Mariner 40hp 2 stroke (40M 6e9) engine on it and I'm looking for a workshop manual. From the serial number I've established that it's a 1993 engine.

I managed to download the Mercury-Mariner workshop manual for all their 2 strokes from 1990-2000 from emanualonline.com however it doesn't cover this engine, presumably as, I believe, the engine was manufactured by Yamaha.

So my question is, does anyone know which Yamaha manual I need to buy? I think it might be the 40C model but I can't find any conclusive evidence and I don't want to waste more money buying another incorrect manual!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum. Looking at this link is seems the 40M 6e9 was made from 1981-1994...

https://www.auto-repair-manuals.com/40-55.html

I've had the 20hp Mariner (Yamaha made) of this series and when I did so bought the Clymer manual 1976-89 which covered it...

https://www.clymer.com/mariner-2-220...1976-1989-b714

I still have it and while not looking to sell could upload the odd page or bit of info here as an image if it helped prove it was the correct manual.
