Manual release valve -Merc "design1" PT

OK, the rebuild is progressing well on some fronts - my pistons are now inside the cylinder block , however I have a small problem with the manual override valve on the PT unit I got to retrofit. Namely, it's gubbed.

I got suspicuious when I saw the screw head where you would normally apply screwdriver, and then discovered the shaft had sheared. I was then quoted more than I paid for an entire PT midsection for a new replacement.

So, does anyone have a merc/ Mariner "Design 1" PT that they could remove & measure up their manual override valve? I am likely to completely destroy the one that's in there on removeal, and to put none too fine a point on it, RRP for a 1" long bit of plastic and a couple of O rings is taking the P, no matter what branding is on the box.

Probably on some fronts. This is the single offset ram unit with the motor parallel to the ram sat atop the header tank. I believe the easy way to tell them aopart is the color of the fill plug (gyellow Vs Black) however there's a subtle difference to the pump base manifold too, in that the PRV seems to be assembled from the joint with the piston side, whereas the design 1 (as described o nthe microfiche) has a separate screw so it can be assembled without separating the pump manifiold form the bottom of the piston. If that made any sense.

One of these:

shown with broken manual release, and the puddle of PT fluid that Mrs 9D is currently unaware wandered across the dining room table..... oops!
