Lower casing damage Yamaha F80A 2003

The lower casing of my Yamaha F80A has sustained some damage after hitting a rock.

The prop is undamaged.

Will this significantly affect the performance of the engine?

Also, can this damage be repaired? I imagine it is a common site for damage. A new lower casing is around £500-£600.
