Johnson 50 4-stroke OPINIONS

I am considering buying an rib with a 2005 Johnson 50 4-stroke.
I've not managed to find much information on them, they don't seem that common.
Has anyone ever had one, or know anything about them?

Thanks!

thats right, excellent little engine just watch for the tell tale blocking - easy to sort though as the jet just pulls off allowing you to blow any salt or stones out

Ok - thanks for the help. I do remember hearing somewhere that they were rebranded Suzukis.

Have they stopped making engines, so is it difficult to get parts. Or do Suzuki parts fit?

As has been said its just a rebadged Suzuki. Only thing I think is different is that it needs to be plugged into an etec style diagnostic cable not a Suzuki one. The connectors for the controls/gauges etc are also all etec style. Other than that all the parts are the same. The Johnson brand is now defunct so often means you can pick these engines up for less than one with a Suzuki paint job. I got a great deal on a 225 version a few years ago.
