Personally I would clean out everything then see how much flow you can get through by sucking through the line (using the primer). My 140hp Suzuki burns 22 Ltrs an hour on full load. That’s only really a trickle through a pipe!
+1
6mm is not ideal for your application, but I'd doubt that's what's causing the problem.

Fuel tank now completely emptied and any debris removed, only thing left is fuel filter which i have already opened up and fuel looked crystal clear, but can only see one chamber the fuel leaving filter, the other part is sealed, so new filter will be ordered next week

These filters really need to be changed ever year as part of the engine service anyway, so if it hasn't been done that's a good bet.

yes i think it may be the original one, boat built in 1990. just placed order for new filter/water separator.
i have decided to take out the bulkhead fitting and just run the hose from the fuel filter (new one ) straight through the bulk head and perhaps fit a rubber grommet to avoid any rubbing , this way every thing will be 8mm internal die from tank to outboard aswell.
So with a cleaned out tank, new filter, all pipe checked, air vent good, new primer bulb, i should be good to go. fingers crossed
