Help needed

First of all thanks in advance to anyone who has the answer!

I have just found the two large bolts m12 I suspect that hold the top of my Evinrude 115 FICTH have sheared and the engine is now flopping about a bit . Obviously I need a good engine guy who can fix this as it is beyond my ability . It looks like the whole weight of the engine is being supported by the gearchange rod . One of the bolts has rust on the fracture mark so I think it has been broken for some time and the other one gave way this afternoon . Lucky really as we planned a Cherbourg run on 4/9 . So the question is who would you use to get this done asap as of course it is out of warranty now . I have the boat at home on a trailer so getting it to a suitable guy is not an issue . Over to you boys and girls !

Hi Lurcher,

Excuse me if I'm being thick but I'm not quite sure which bolts you mean. Are they the ones which hold the engine onto the transom or do they hold parts of the actual engine together?

Do you mean the Bolts holding the engine on to the transom or holding the rngine on to th egearbox. Either way APAS engineering do good work in Shamrock Quay or Lee Fweather or MB marine Ron Hale in portsmouth or The Ribshop in the Hamble

Bolts

Its the ones that hold the main engine to the bit you bolt onto the transom . So I think they are attached to the steering tube if that is the right name for it . Too many glasses of red wine now to make proper sense./

So they hold the engine and the bracket together? Sounds serious! I guess the only thing then is to strap it up really well and get it round to one of the places Rogue Wave has recommended. Hope you get it sorted soon.
