Help just bought this, Does this sound normal?

Mariner 3.3hp Outboard Engine | eBay




Looks a bargain,

Condition looks super mint inside,

Just what I am looking for, Hopefully all will be ok.

Sounds a lot like a suzuki dt2.2 I had a while back, doesn't sound like anything is wrong to me. I would clamp it to something before starting though.

Thanks thats a relief!

Could turn out to be a good little bargain then.

Like you said, maybe the vibration of not being fixed to anything is adding to the noise?

i have the mariner version of that engine (same engine with diff sticker) and it sounds exactly the same. pushes my 5.6m rib along at 3mph easily so will do you proud.

That was a bargain . I spent ages looking for one and did well to find one locally at 300 . I never saw a good one fetch less than 250 even if tatty . Merc mariner Johnson tohatsu all the same .

saw a really nice mariner one for sale today for just under 300 quid. those two strokes make good money if looked after.
