Fitting cable steering

Yup I do still exist!

Been looking at that Searider in the For Sale section, and wondering how much hassle it is to actually install cable steering on a boat that was previously tiller steered.

Is it a job possible to be done DIY, or is it a job for proper boat mechanics?

Cheers,
Matt

Narked welcome back,

Steering for a small rib like this is a doddle. There are some kits with everything included for about £100 and fitting well an afternoons work. A trip to Pembroke Yachts in Neyland might produce a console cheap or even a mould to make one from (they used to supply Zodiac I think).
