Spark plug should normally be wet with petrol if its getting though to the cylinder. Also pop the spark plug out, hold with insulated pliers against bare metal on the block and have someone pull the engine over. You should see the spark.

Can you imagine to looks of horror on the Bar Staff's faces if it did indeed fire up and flood out the lounge . Dry suits the order of the day perhaps .

the bar is quite sturdy so if the engine needs stripping down that will make an excellent work bench. plus they have a sink behind the bar for cleaning out the carb if any muck in there.

Olly

Make sure those pliers are insulated, otherwise you wont need any gel in your hair this evening.

checked last night with insulated pliers against the block and pulled it about 30 times couldnt get a spark out of the plug, (tried 2 plugs), the end of the plug was coated in new petrol so the fuels getting there in the cylinders, someone mentioned points, how do i get to those, and what am I looking for please? - shall I take more pics - secretly scared of taking off the main cover off as the recoil might smack in the head!
