Engine reconditioning: Central Scotland?

I need to get the cylinders in a Johnson 90 honed, prior to fitting new rings.
Does anyone have any recommendations for reconditioning/engineering firms in Central Scotland?

Douglas

If you have access to a big vertical drill or milling machine you could do it yourself with a cylinder hone. Some people use a normal slow running hand drill but I wouldn't.

Got a friend who blows up rally car engines reasobnably frequently and highly reccommended a place by Killearn.

Was hoping to have been able to give you a report on them by now, but the "new crew" has slowed the rebuild down a bit & the pistons are still in the block of my Merc.....

Left it with JEM engines in Laurieston (Falkirk) as it's just down the road from where I'm working.

Hope nobody comes back with a bad report about them!

We've used them for general machining stuff at work. No complaints.

Be interested to hear your report - they were next on my list of possible places for the Merc.

JEM Engines turned the job round in a couple of days.
Also got them to extract the bottom bearing from the crankshaft.
Seem like a good outfit, with an interesting collection of engines dotted around the place, from a single cylinder steam engine, to a HS jet. (goblin, I think)
