Take a look on Humbers website, a write up named The Goretex Artic Rib challenge 2011, 2 x 6.3m Ocean Pro’s with twin 90 hp Suzuki’s, they must weigh over 300kg combined [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

Yeah agree suppose that’s where consumables have gone generally, reliability over longevity .... they want us to buy new engines.

Saw the Artic Rib challenge article and you are right , not sure how that works. Based on weight alone a 200kg limit would limit a twin engine setup to twin 50hps or something!

Even with just a Skipper aboard, the rib did not perform as well as a smaller 5.5 Humber with a 90hp fitted.

I’d not go too heavy if I was you.

Agreed in some ways- but Engine isn’t too heavy, the transom post 2004 can take up to 245kg, however it is underpowered, a 150hp 4s, 4 up, fuel and a phat engine. It’s a deep V and tubes drag too.

The 175opti however will launch you out of the water even a few up. And will pull wakeboarders out too for example.
