What would an 'indecent Suzuki dealer' be? I shudder to think!

Brownspoint or Boats.net.
Its cheaper, you can get anything you ask for and they tend to able to supply everything for any Suzuki.
I just ordered £160 worth of parts that even including import tax would still have cost me well over £100 more in the UK, assuming they could get me them.
In practice the wait for parts locally from my local dealer mean it doesn't even take much longer to get them, if longer at all.

interesting comment, i ordered NMEA parts via clyde outboard services for my df200 at 2pm tuesday, got text from them 11am next day advising the parts came from suzuki.

i guess it all depends who the dealer is and if the parts are in stock with distributor.

i paid £160 from clyde outboards for parts i could have got at browns for $150, by time you add VAT, shipping, import duty, the handling fee and parcelfarce charge it would have cost £158.88 according to- http://www.dutycalculator.com

sometimes, most times actually, it isn't worth ordering from USA.

cheers

An "indecent" dealer is one that takes the telephone enquirey in a less than interested way and then fails to come back to you with price and availability as promised !.

hence the question..........

Thanks for the suggestions guys, will ring round in the morning .

I suppose it is what your experience is ordering parts, I always order from the US and find I always save a packet compared to what I get prices for from any dealers I have asked here. Doesn't mean that there aren't cheaper places but I certainly haven't come across one as yet!
As an example, One part I ordered a few nights ago for just over £50. If I include the whole order import duties, taxes and shipping charges is still cheaper than the cost of this one part only in the UK. I was quoted £97 for the same part from my local suzuki dealer.
All the other parts basically come at cut US prices without any additional taxes or shipping charges as I saved this through the one part above.
Maybe I have just been talking to the wrong UK dealers...

Bruce, i order a LOT of things from USA for my hobby (RC helicopters/planes/drones) and if i had the choice i'd order from UK. the charges now and the conversion rate don't make it worthwhile in most instances.

yes, you maybe have been talking to the wrong dealers :-)

cheers

As Ron Hale marine was the first answer I got thats where I started !.
Rang them and spoke to Ross in spares, sorted there and then on the phone, bits not in stock ordered and the whole lot delivered to my door in 4 working days.

Will try Bert at mobile marine next time. Thanks for the tips guys.
