Damaged prop and size

Morning,

The prop on my Suzuki DT55 is damaged, the previous owner mentioned it when i bought it and it still goes well but i am wondering if it would benefit from repair or replacement.

The numbers stamped on it (as far as i can see) are:-
48 . 79138 A40L 14P

Any suggestions and a guide to costs?

Thanks

Tim

Thanks Bartiny, that is brilliant! cheaper than i expected too.

My only confusion is that i cannot work out what size my prop is, the numbers stamped on it do not fit with the data asked for by Steel developments. the 14P at teh end of the number quoted i assume is 14".

You are welcome.

Yes the 14p is 14" pitch, the best thing would be to email steel developments and give them the details. Unless someone else comes along with info.

Sorry can't be of further assistance.

I have just had another look at the link I sent, and it is either £36.00 or £38.00 depending on diameter, what I would do is buy the £38.00 package then you are sure to have it covered as it will not be (I do not think) over 14" diameter.

Might have a look at this thread (not identical but should give you direction to search):
Prop Not Sure of Application - Moderated Discussion Areas

So it's a 14" pitch; you can get diameter by measuring from the (intact) tip of one blade to the center of the shaft hole, and doubling it.

£55.20 with the postage and vat and you still have to add the cost to post to them!

You are right to point that out, but it is still a good price.

And I feel that I should point out that not everyone will have to pay the postage, you may be in a position to drop/pick up.

And it does not cost everyone the 20% vat as they could be a commercial operator and be able to claim it back.

So the base line £32.00 is very good IMO.

They make it clear that prices exclude VAT & postage and it's still a lot less than i expected.

Will remove the prop on my next trip up to the lakes in 3 weeks and get it sent off.

Thanks again chaps, a very helpful forum
