Autolube

Hi guys ,

I've got a yam 30 autolube - wondering what the general view is in the autolube system. Is it reliable, do I need to do anything to maintain it?

Read a bit that some people run 100-1 in the tank as a back up, is that worth doing?

only if you want it to run lean 2 strokes don't like running lean . the autolube system works great unless its broken the only folks who complain about it are those that don't keep there maintenance up to scratch

Hi , cheers for the reply. Surely If I added oil to the tank it would run richer rather than leaner, as the autolube and the oil in the tank would combine?

In terms of maintainence, is there anything I should specifically be doing on the autolube system?

the autolube injects oil after the carb if you mix oil in with the fuel then some of the fuel passing through the jets in the carb is oil so reducing the amount of fuel to air ratio that is passing through the jet making a leaner mixture the oil is not fuel if you want to run premix then the carb jets will need to be increased in size to accommodate the weaker fuel mix

At 100:1 ratio do you really think the 1%oil is going to make an old school 2 stroke run lean?
I wouldn't imagine it'd make any difference at all.
They chuck a high percentage of unburnt fuel out with every cycle.
I'd imagine playing on an inland river or lake a few metres above sea level would make more difference to the mixture than 1%of oil but they still run fine in the UK rivers and lakes
