Add fuel line filter for Yamaha Malta

Hi, my Yamaha Malta has no filter (not even tiny filter fitted to most Maltas), which means I end up cleaning the carb far too often. Does anyone know about adding in some kind of gunk filter into the fuel line, and what filter to buy?

Thanks

Andy

You can buy a inline filter glass see through that strips for cleaning so you can see debris about ten quid

Malta fuel filter is in the fat end of the fuel cock. You may have to dig it out and then fit a small inline filter.

Fit that filter and you could do away with the fuel tank.

LOL. They are a tad large, but they are completely sealed/rustproof/screw less and it’s a 2 minute job to change them.

I know I'm being lazy. Is there a 'next size up' version of the filter shown above? Its says only suitable for up to 140hp... I am looking on the website but it's usually quicker to ask

Thanks, have ordered one of these which hopefully will work: https://www.asap-supplies.com/produc...V2VFNFcAp1-jQ9 ... on the advice of ChatGPT which I probably shouldn't admit here!
