200hp diesel outboard

another diesel contender coming to market- OXE | WHEN RELIABLITY IS KEY

it is only a matter of time before these are on the back of a leisure boat whether one of the big brands does it first or not is the question.

cheers

I like the belt drive concept. Well proven as a drive chain on motorcycles 👍

200 hour service interval and 2000hr overhaul.... Excellent. Wonder what the weight on the 200hp unit is?

Well it's taken them a bit longer, but production units are out there now and the first batch will be going on RIBs. No word on when they'll be generally available yet though. Or how much they're going to cost!

That's a heavy lump to bolt on your transom for just 200 horses. Is that power output at the flywheel or gearbox I wonder.

There is a return on investment graph, which if I am reading it right puts the initial cost somewhere around eur60k (double the price of a petrol equivalent?) I'm not sure how that compares to an inboard + leg?

Proteum are the UK & Ireland distributors for OXE, we have now sold over 60 units into the UK & Ireland maritime industry, predominately to commercial users but some leisure where petrol is inaccessible in that location.

The available OB range is 150hp, 175hp & 200hp all using the GM 2.0 liter 4 cylinder powerhead.
The OXE 300hp utilises the BMW 3.0 litre 6 cylinder engine block

For more information please visit www.proteum.co.uk or email Simon.barnett@proteum.co.uk
