Make sure you have "Remember Me?" checked before logging in. If that is checked and your session is only lasting 30 minutes then something is wrong. If the latter, can you provide your browser and version?

Brian, please try using this link to delete your cookie:

Then make sure to check the "Remember Me" box and report back.

FYI - Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ribnet lite~ish available at: http://www.rib.net/forum/sitemap/.

Unfortunately it sends you to the main site when you actually want to read a thread.

Suggestion for small improvement - if I want to mark all items in a forum as read then it's a 2 step process 1) Click on link for forum header which 2) takes me to the bottom of the page where I can then click on "Mark all items read". If a link was available on the forum header to do this in one go then that would be far more user friendly !

You can do it from the forum home page by double-clicking on the waves icon to the left of the forum title. Is that any help?

Are you using AVG Brian?

The anti-spyware on it has been logging me out of everything quite frequently.

Can you specifically enable/allow cookie exchange with the site? We use cookies to keep you logged in at page changes. If yours are being cleared at every page change, this will continue to be a headache for you.

We're trying to find a solution, but it's difficult because it only seems to be affecting a handful of people and we can't reproduce it!

Have you tried temporarily disabling your antivirus software and anything similar you might have running?

John I am a simpleton as far as computers are concerned, but why is it my fault when the site worked perfectly with me before, and its not just me. I am running IE 9 with MacAfee and the usual microsoft security if that helps you answer my problem.
Cheers
J

If your PC's security system is deleting cookies on your computer it will mean that when you go back to the page, the page won't "know who you are". Not the fault of the page, but if it can't see a cookie for that page it will assume the visitor is a new user. If it can see a cookie, it will know "Aha, here is jambo, he is already logged in" and Bob's yer uncle
