RIBase
A thread that only conatins details about towns/ ports where fuel can be obtained.

I propose that a thread be started that contains details of fuel and were it can be found.

This has been a bug bear of mine for some time espically on the west coast of Ireland.

I think that it would be too freeform to be very useful, although it could be a way of gathering information to be presented in another way.

If you wanted to compile and update a list then it could be uploaded here. Or maybe talk to Geoff at Boatlaunch and see if he could add the information there?

Why not put the detail on a spreadsheet that is accessible by all so we are able to add to it, similar to the sheet we used for attendance of RIOW2014

Forgive my ignorance of things technical, but could this be done in a customised Google Earth layer or similar? Then you could mark the port and the gas....

Seems to work pretty well on the Forum already...I know it's helped me
People ask where Fuel/type times ect can be obtained...when available at different locations on thier travels..... (sometimes internationally) and people generally respond pretty quickly!

Any data base would be forever changing details ...and potentialy cause problems.
A REAL pluss for Ribnet IMO.Real info..in REAL TIME! from people on the ground!

I believe it could. 9D280 already has such a list in a gpx file for much of West of Scotland (including those which are not at harbours etc but are potentially accessible with a scramble, walk, short taxi etc...). the problem is maintaining the info. Especially in rural areas pumps close, h&s eventually arrives, opening hours change etc. If a pump is mission critical posting for up to date info may be sensible.
