Ok that was a different post about a different topic? I have a rya trainer now an I’m jus getting it all in order but the question I’m asking is regarding a boat not regulations buddy. Jus asking what people would recommend for around the 5000 mark as Iv sold the quicksilver

Would you not be better with a hard boat - a Pioner or a dory or something?

That’s not including an engine or trailer though.

Your boat will need to meet the regs though so is useful information and potentially quite a bit of kit you’ll need to include in your budget.

But it will last 5x as long in that environment bashing against barnacle encrusted piers, moving dirty kit etc, and never lose you a days income because the boat is getting patched again.

Other brands of rotomolded plastic boats exist, but you might want to work out your priorities - eg. If you are working alone to do rescue work the landing craft style bow is a huge plus point. If you might need to do CPR the wide flat deck is another positive etc.

I believe whaly have now got an offering with those features too - but fully equipped either a pioner or Whaly with engine, trailer etc is probably 4x your budget! So you’ll need to look second hand and because they last forever they don’t come up for sale very often and hold their price well...

Good shout as it'll take the abuse you're likely to be giving it more then the X-pro will.

That said, I do like the X-Pro patrols, loved running mine (5.5) the last 5 years.
