The original licence was for use at one location but it was found that does not work for some instructors.
Being an RTC and being and instructor are not joined as far as these radio licence's go.

An instructor can have and buy from Ofcom a licence, they do not have to be a RTC.
If you speak to them and tell them that you worked various locations you as the instructor with you own licence can yes but only if it allows you to travel.

The kit has to be licenced, in wot ever way suits you or your school best.
The RTC is only licenced if that is the name on the licence

If the instructor has a licence that allows him or her to teach and move around it does not matter if the RTC is licenced or not.
This only matters if the RTC has its own simms.

As I said it is the radios that need to be licence, either via a RTC or an instructor.

Told you it would have been easier for you to call me

Anyway Stu are you getting an OHP?

Regards

Now you have confused me as I was under the understanding that for the RYA VHF certificate you the Instructor could only teach at a RYA Training Establishment. And that when applying for recognition you had to put down the name 's of the Instructors delivering this course .

Now I have spoken to Susan Choi Customer Liason Officer Maritime and Areo team and as a Licence holder I must inform them of the address I shall be transmitting from two week's in advance so I can be mobile as a Instructor and licence holder .The next thing that I need to clarify with the RYA Allison Noice is will there be a problem with me going to another area say RNLI Poole with my equipment and teaching for the Yacht club members.

Thank you Jon for an interesting debate and rather than phone you I think it is better to use the medium of the forum as others can read and understand the points being made .

Yes so as an instructor I can teach at any school that I am registered with.
That has nothing what so ever to do with the radio licence.
Anyone can apply for a radio licence for show base teaching.
They will not ask to see any certs to prove you are an instructor

That is down to the location having to be an RTC and you being on their books as an instructor for the subject in my understanding.

Yes I agree but from where I was sitting we were covering the same ground and going round the point.

You were speaking from your own needs and licence.
I was talking in general not based on my needs.

Lets hope that eveyone has a better picture of what they can do now.

Regards

I am in a bad mood with the project at the moment cos I can't get the AMX configured properly and if It doesn't play nicely tomorrow then it's going in the bin (well ebay at least!). Re the OHP I kinda thought that if I was going to provide an OHP facility it would be via a visualiser then I thought stuff em if they are so old fashioned to use OHP foils then they can bring there own OHP!

Problem solved!
