Honda Rib Challenge

I have a client who's son wants to get involved. I have been trying to get more kids involved with us too make it worthwhile and competitive, but no real joy so far. Does anybody know of any clubs around the Hampshire/Dorset area participating this year. The young lad is desperate to compete, but without other kids involved it's pointless us doing anything for a single competitor - for with whom does he compete???

If you have a look here you'll see some of the clubs in the 'Southern' region which held heats last year. Also, you could try emailing the organisers using the link on the RYA website. I do have a couple of contact names/email addresses if all else fails - PM me if you need them. HTH.

Edit: You beat me to it Dave!

I think we may be running one at HISC this year as the event at Cowes was a bit difficult to run due space and so many other activites going on at the same time. Thing is your boy needs to be a member of a sailing club or SEA SCOUTS to compete as the prize of the RIB etc is for the winning club not the individual .

He is a member of a club in Lymington but they won't run the event. We were going to register but the 7m ribcraft is not suitable and although we have tried to raise some interest from local scout groups we have not been able to get any one really for the lad to compete against.
